Two Decades.
One Mission.
Nepal.
Raja Ram Giri has spent over twenty years championing Nepal on the global stage. Himalaya Booking is his most personal project yet.
"Nepal has everything the world is looking for in travel. We just needed to show them where to look."
— Raja Ram Giri, Founder, Himalaya Booking
A Nepali in London,Dreaming of Home.
Raja Ram Giri arrived in London as a Non-Resident Nepali with a vision that went beyond building a life abroad — he wanted to build a bridge back home.
Over two decades, that vision took many forms. He founded Samsara Nepal Financial Services, the first Nepali-owned money transfer company in the United Kingdom — creating secure remittance corridors for thousands of Nepalis in the diaspora, partnering with Kumari Bank to connect families across continents.
He served as General Secretary of Friends of Britain and Nepal, organising large-scale trade fairs in London that put Nepal's business and cultural potential in front of European audiences.
And he launched Himalayas Magazine — a UK-based annual publication dedicated to showcasing the true beauty of Nepal's culture, tourism, and investment opportunities to readers across Europe.
Through every venture, the thread was the same: Nepal deserved to be seen by the world.
Nepal's Tourism,His Life's Work.
As his influence grew, so did his role in Nepal's tourism story.
Raja became a recognized authority in Nepal's national tourism sector — a trusted voice on how to position Nepal for the post-pandemic world.
He was shortlisted for the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in 2024, a testament to the scale of his contribution and the depth of his understanding of Nepal's travel industry.
As a key figure in the Tourism Revival Committee, he led high-profile international campaigns — including hosting international celebrities in Nepal — to revitalize the country's travel economy and put Nepal back on the global travel map.
When Nepal's tourism needed a champion, Raja was already there.
Building Nepal,From the Ground Up.
Raja's ambitions for Nepal were never limited to tourism alone.
As an advocate and facilitator for the Kathmandu-Kulekhani-Hetauda Tunnel Road — one of Nepal's first major private-sector infrastructure initiatives — he worked to attract international non-resident investment and introduce modern structural design technology to Nepal's development landscape.
His philosophy was clear: Nepal's growth needed global capital, international expertise, and Nepalis abroad who were willing to put their networks to work for their homeland.
That same philosophy drives Himalaya Booking today.
Then CameHimalaya Booking.
After two decades of working to elevate Nepal on the world stage, Raja saw one persistent gap.
Nepal's hotels — from centuries-old heritage guesthouses in Bhaktapur to extraordinary jungle lodges in Chitwan — were invisible to the international traveler. The best properties weren't on the right platforms. The right platforms weren't focused on Nepal.
He had experienced it himself: trying to recommend hotels to friends visiting Nepal from London, only to find that the platforms they trusted didn't do Nepal justice.
As Director of Manakamana Intl. Ltd., with years of cross-border business experience and a deep network across Nepal's tourism sector, Raja was uniquely positioned to change this.
In 2025, he founded Himalaya Booking.
Not as a technology project. As the culmination of twenty years of believing that Nepal deserves to be experienced by the world — and that the world deserves to experience Nepal at its finest.
Built by a world-class technology team across Kathmandu and Tampere.
